Robert Alwine is an AV Preeminent rated trial lawyer and a Captain with the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.
He has 22 years of experience representing clients at the trial and appellate levels in state court, federal court, and in arbitration.
Rob began his legal career with the U.S. Navy JAG Corps as a prosecutor and defense counsel based in Washington, D.C. and Sicily, Italy, representing in Italy, Malta, Sardinia, Germany, and Bahrain.
Military Service
Since leaving active duty in 2004, Rob continues to serve as a reserve officer with the U.S. Navy, where he was recognized for his work with civil litigation division of the Office of the Judge Advocate General with the Rear Admiral Hugh H. Howell, Jr. Award of Excellence in 2013 and promotion to the rank of Captain (O-6) in 2022.
As a Navy JAG, he has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Joint Service Commendation Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four times); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three times); Joint Meritorious Unit Award; National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (three times); Armed Forces Reserve Medal; NATO Medal (Afghanistan); Navy Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon; and Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal.
In 2021, Rob deployed to the Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan (CSTC-A) as its Staff Judge Advocate and had the honor of directly participating in Operation Allies Refuge, where he helped evacuate approximately 57,000 Afghan partners and U.S. citizens from Kabul, Afghanistan to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar in the largest humanitarian airlift in United States history.
Law Practice
Since 2004, Rob has based his law practice in South Florida representing individuals and companies in the areas of condominium association litigation, business litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, yacht industry litigation, consumer litigation.
Rob helps people and companies resolve legal disputes as quickly and efficiently as possible. He does this by providing clients with realistic case assessments and litigation budgets, working with experts and investigators early, conducting extensive legal and factual investigation, and by his willingness to take a case to trial when required.
He was selected to serve as the Chair of the Florida Bar Association Attorney Grievance Committee 11 “G” for 2013 and has been recognized as a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent attorney for ethical standards and legal ability.
